The recent LFFA Pairs Boat Championships at
Pitsford resulted in
a tie for first place between the pairing of Roger Bemrose and Norman
Sketchley and the pairing of Graham Herbert and Bas Street. Both
pairs brought 26lb 12oz of fish to the scales. Stuart Kerr and
Steve Lord were third with 21lb 8oz.
The event was held on
the hottest day of the year to date, and there
was very little wind, making for very testing conditions.
Best fish was one of 4lb
2oz landed by Bas Street who also had the
heaviest individual bag of the day.
The President’s Bank Match at Elinor on
Sunday, 13th September was won by the President himself, with 5 fish
for 11lb 13oz. John felt that he could not present the winner’s
bottle of Whisky to himself, so he presented this to the second angler,
a new member, Rob Teasdale, who caught 6 fish for 10lb 13oz. The
attendance was once again shockingly poor and a smashing barbecue,
prepared by Steve Lord, was missed. John wishes to thank the
members who came along - all caught fish - and a special thanks to
Steve.
