Roach Fry (Minkie)

Dressing:
Hook:
Kamasan, or alternatively Drennan size 10 L/S B800, or B830 for smaller size
Tying Thread:
White
Tail:
Hot Orange Hackle Fibres
Body:
Pearl Lurex ribbed with Silver Wire
Wing:
White Mink or Rabbit Strip, with Teal or Barred Mallard – Summer Duck over, the same length as the hook. Add a few strands of Crystal to wing.
Head:
White thread built up to shape and eyed with black varnish, and then clear varnish finish.
Comments: This fly has caught me a lot of fish over the years, fished on all types of lines at different depths. 

Trout will take a fry imitation all the season through, provided it is presented correctly.

The perch fry of mine is also a good fish catcher and I will give tying details at a later date.
